Gratitude Journal Entries

Today, and this weekend, (and all of winter) I am so very grateful to have a warm home to live in! I can just turn on some heat with a switch!! I love cutting wood, but I couldn't imagine trying to keep a home warm back in the pioneer times of 1913 or 1813! The windchills are nearing -35 today. And besides, I can cuddle with my cat and dog all day!

I am so thankful for family gatherings. It's easy to get brought down by all the work that goes into a family gathering. Let's face it - it's a lot of work for everyone! There's food to prepare, shopping for gifts, packing bags, packing the car, traveling a bunch of miles. Ugh. It's exhausting before you even leave the driveway. In the end though, none of that matters.  That's right - none.  What you're left with is good time spent with good people you don't see nearly often enough. That's all that matters - time with family. Enjoy it will you can.  Life is too short not to.

Today, and every day, I am so incredibly grateful for Julie Olek. She has been so incredible with Jackson, teaching him all kinds of things I probably wouldn't have thought of teaching him. She has been such a wonderful addition to our lives. She has so much love for Jackson and gives so much of herself for him. With our crazy schedules she is so willing to let Jackson stay longer whenever we need him to. It is so amazing to have someone like that in our lives. We couldn't have asked for anything better. I am so glad Jackson gets to spend quality time all day with someone who truly loves him.

Im grateful for my Aunt. She has, for my entire life, shown me Christ and is such an inspiration to me in many ways, hard-work, kindness, love, and Godliness.

Im grateful for calm, clear winter nights.  Tonight was a night with a dull moon, and you can look up at all the stars....and wow did they ever twinkle! Some people never get to see the stars and I get to see them everynight!

Im grateful for Buck Brannaman.  He is definitely one of the best horseman around and is so dedicated to the horse and If I could be 10% of the horseman he and Ray Hunt and Tom and Bill Dorrance were, I'd die a happy woman!
